Recognizing the Stars Behind the Scenes

We wanted to take a moment and introduce you to the amazing and dedicated midwives who are working hard to make the 62nd Annual Meeting & Exhibition an unforgettable event. Here are just 5. Please check back soon to “meet” other national and local program committee members.

Pamela Reis, co-chair of the ACNM Program Committee.
“I live in Raleigh, N.C. I enjoy reading, watching British crime series on Netflix, walking, and riding my bicycle. I serve on the Program Committee because I love attending our annual meetings, and I enjoy working behind the scenes to plan the events. It takes a village to bring our annual meetings to fruition, and I appreciate the unique talents of all members of the Program Committee as they contribute to the success of our annual meetings.”

Gillian Brautigam, co-chair of the Local Program Committee.
“I joined the Program Committee to be a part of this meeting and contribute my local expertise and energy. I have lived in various neighborhoods in Chicago over the past 9 years, and I am very excited to share this amazing city with so many other midwives. I think the meeting is a great time for connectivity and sharing knowledge, but also a time to be re-energized and reaffirm why we all do this work, with women. I wanted to be a part of making the Chicago meeting particularly memorable and wonderful.”

Jessica Anderson, Program Committee member.
“My daughter graduated from preschool last year and at her graduation professed that she wants to be a *midwife* when she grows up…. It was a very proud mom moment for me. I am a member of the Program Committee as I believe in a high quality, unique annual meeting that unites our organization once a year.”

Kathy Herron, Program Committee member.
“In my spare time (ha!), I love to read, do crossword puzzles, and do crafts such as knitting, sewing, quilting, and needlepoint. I volunteer on the Program Committee because I love going to the annual meetings, and it’s important to me that the educational, political, networking, and entertainment offerings are all robust and meaningful. I want to be a part of the magic that makes it happen!”

Ebony Roebuck, Program Committee member.
“I love dancing, yoga, coffee ice cream, my two pups and my-soon-to-be hubs! I volunteer on the Program Committee because I enjoy helping to make this annual event for midwives successful. I have loved coming over the years, and now I get to help make it awesome.”
