ACNM 70th Annual Meeting & Exhibition
The American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) Annual Meeting & Exhibition is the premier continuing education, networking, clinical, and business meeting for certified nurse-midwives (CNMs) and certified midwives (CMs) nationwide.
About ACNM
The American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) is the professional association that represents CNMs and CMs in the United States. ACNM sets the standard for excellence in midwifery education and practice in the United States.
About Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs)/Certified Midwives (CMs)
CNMs and CMs are advanced practice midwives who provide primary care with a special emphasis on pregnancy, childbirth, and gynecologic, newborn and reproductive health. While 95% of CNMs and CMs attend births in hospitals, CNMs/CMs attend births in birth centers and hospitals, too.
CNMs and CMs:
- Provide care, support, and advice during pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period, as well as care for newborns.
- Perform a full range of primary care services as well as gynecologic care including family planning services, Pap tests, perimenopausal care, and breast cancer screenings.
- Prescribe medications including controlled substances and contraceptive methods; admit, manage and discharge patients; order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests; and order the use of medical devices.
- Provide health promotion and disease prevention services.
- Focus on helping to make informed decisions, often creating bonds of trust and support that are increasingly rare in health care today.
The 2025 ACNM Annual Meeting & Exhibition will bring together the largest concentration of CNMs and CMs in the nation, along with other women’s health practitioners, allied health professionals, researchers, faculty, community leaders, policymakers, self-advocates, and midwifery students in support of common goals to advance sexual and reproductive health and the practice of midwifery.
